Ripple’s XRP token has seen a substantial rally over the last few days. CoinGecko data shows that the asset’s price has risen by 8.3% in the last 24 hours, 26.5% in the last week, and nearly 12% over the previous month. XRP is currently facing resistance at the $1.65 price level. Let’s look at two reasons why XRP could hit $2 by the end of this year.

Why XRP Could Hit $2 By The End Of This Year

XRP had one of its most bullish years in 2025. The asset climbed to an all-time high of $3.65 in July of last year following the settlement of the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit. The closing of the suit brought substantial regulatory clarity for the asset, which led to a spike in investor sentiment. However, 2026 went the other way around. XRP’s price is down by nearly 56% from its 2025 all-time high. But things could change for XRP over the coming months.
Firstly, we may reach a final deal between the US and Iran. Iran has already proposed opening the Strait Of Hormuz within seven days if a deal is finalized. Oil prices already dipped following the announcement, which could lead to lower inflation figures. Lower inflation may prompt the Federal Reserve to lower rates. Lower rates, in turn, could trigger a rally for XRP. $2 could become a reality for XRP once again if interest rates are lowered.

Another factor is that many experts anticipate Bitcoin (BTC) to rally by the end of this year. Bernstein, in particular, predicts BTC to hit the $100,000 mark once again by the end of 2026. BTC turning bullish could trigger the next bull run for the cryptocurrency market. XRP could potentially reclaim the $2 mark under such circumstances.
